Data in this report come from surveys answered by patients who have stayed at the hospital. The survey contains 27 questions related to the patient's perspectives regarding the hospital on topics like nurse and doctor communication, responsiveness of hospital staff, cleanliness of the room, noise levels. pain management, information provided about medications, overall rating of the hospital and whether the patient would recommend the hospital to others. While Utah hospitals overall rated higher than the national average on seven of 10 reported measures, the report show wide discrepancies among hospitals in how patients viewed their experiences with communication, cleanliness and other factors. Overall, about 73% of respondents would recommend their hospital to family and friends. The goal of this report is to provide information for patients who will require a stay at a hospital, loved ones who are researching a hospital for someone else, or any individual looking at the customer satisfaction scores for health care research.
