The reservoir is an off-channel facility receiving water from the Virgin River, diverted near the town of Virgin, Utah. It is being operated conjunctively, providing both surface-water storage and artificial recharge to the underlying Navajo aquifer. The U.S. Geological Survey and the Bureau of Reclamation conducted a study to document baseline ground-water conditions at Sand Hollow prior to the operation of the reservoir and to evaluate changes in ground-water conditions caused by the reservoir. | External Link: http://pubs.usgs.gov/sir/2005/5185/pdf/SIR2005_5185.pdf | External Link 2: http://pubs.usgs.gov/sir/2005/5185/ | Identifier: http://utah.ptfs.com/awweb/guest.jsp?smd=1&cl=all_lib&lb_document_id=33353 | | Show Metadata | | Metadata Record |

Data consist primarily of selenium concentrations in surface water, ground water, bottom sediment, and biological samples. Supporting hydrologic data include field measurements of temperature, pH, specific conductance, water levels in wells, and discharge at surface-water sites. Selected water samples also were analyzed for major ions, trace elements, nutrients, and gross alpha and beta radiation. The concentration of selected selenium species is reported for several bottom-sediment samples from Stewart Lake WMA and the concentration of total selenium in suspended-sediment samples from the area are included. Well logs for six wells installed at Stewart Lake WMA are presented along with trace-element data for several biological samples collected at selected sites throughout the middle Green River basin. | External Link: http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2002/ofr02343/pdf/ofr02343.pdf | External Link 2: http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2002/ofr02343/ | Identifier: http://utah.ptfs.com/awweb/guest.jsp?smd=1&cl=all_lib&lb_document_id=33344 | | Show Metadata | | Metadata Record |

Bureau of Reclamation | Agency: U.S. Bureau of Reclamation ; U.S. Interior | Date Published: 2007 | Pages: 724 p. | Description: The Secretary of the Department of the Interior (Department), acting through the Bureau of Reclamation, proposes adoption of specific Colorado River Lower Basin (Lower Basin) shortage guidelines and coordinated reservoir management strategies to address operations of Lake Powell and Lake Mead, particularly under drought and low reservoir conditions. This action is proposed in order to provide a greater degree of certainty to United States Colorado River water users and managers of the Colorado River Basin by providing detailed and objective guidelines for the operations of Lake Powell and Lake Mead, thereby allowing water users in the Lower Basin to know when, and by how much, water deliveries will be reduced in drought and other low reservoir conditions. The Department proposes that these guidelines be interim in duration and extend through 2026. This Final EIS has been prepared pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act to address the formulation and evaluation of specific interim criteria and to identify the potential environmental impacts of implementing such criteria. | External Link: http://www.usbr.gov/lc/region/programs/strategies/FEIS/index.html | External Link 2: http://www.usbr.gov/lc/region/programs/strategies.html | Identifier: http://utah.ptfs.com/awweb/guest.jsp?smd=1&cl=all_lib&lb_document_id=12049 | | Show Metadata | | Metadata Record |

Bureau of Reclamation. Provo Area Office | Agency: Provo Area Office ; Upper Colorado Region ; U.S. Bureau of Reclamation ; U.S. Dept. of the Interior | Date Published: 2009 | Pages: 59 p. | Description: The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) proposes to undertake construction activity at Echo Dam to perform seismic upgrades to the dam and spillway. Echo Dam, part of the Weber River Project, is located about 6 miles north of Coalville, Utah, at the junction of Interstates 80 and 84. The proposed construction activity would require Congressional authorization under the Safety of Dams Act of 1978, Public Law This EA describes the environmental effects of addressing the safety deficiencies of Echo Dam. Under the No Action Alternative, Reclamation would not structurally modify the dam to reduce the risks created by the seismic deficiencies. The existing dam would remain in place and standard operating procedures would continue. This alternative is presented in order to provide a comparison for effects of the proposed action. | External Link: http://www.usbr.gov/uc/envdocs/ea/echo/EchoFEA.pdf | External Link 2: http://www.usbr.gov/uc/envdocs/ea/echo/ | Identifier: http://utah.ptfs.com/awweb/guest.jsp?smd=1&cl=all_lib&lb_document_id=30598 | | Show Metadata | | Metadata Record |
